Yes She Can

YES, SHE CAN – WOMEN ARE CHANGING THE WORLD.

Equal rights do not automatically mean equal opportunities – this is still true for working women in Germany more than 40 years after the legislation of gender equality in the workplace. In international comparison, Germany has been lagging far behind for a long time in regard to the gender pay gap, lack of equality on boards, too little diversity in companies, the eternal conflict between family and career, and outdated stereotypes. The list of challenges is long. But one thing is certain:

Germany has long since ceased to have a problem with knowledge; it simply lacks implementation. Visibility for women plays a critical role in this. Since 2018, we have been committed to this with our work at Global Digital Women with a strong women’s network, diversity consulting for companies, workshops, events, and our award formats, such as the Digital Female Leader Award and the FemBizSwiss Award.

With the documentary YES SHE CAN – FRAUEN VERÄNDERN DIE WELT we are now breaking new ground to bring the gender diversity debate into society and to initiate necessary changes. The documentary shows women who do not agree with this status quo. Women who try, every day, to make the world more diverse and who don’t let their success be influenced by prejudices. Role models who encourage and inspire. Female scientists and experts who point out causes and strategies.

In the one-hour documentary, Tijen Onaran (entrepreneur and bestselling author), Dr. Wiebke Ankersen (Managing Director of the AllBright Foundation), Judith Gerlach (Bavarian State Minister for Digital Affairs), Susan Arndt (cultural scientist and successful author) and numerous female founders and CEOs talk about how gender equality can finally be brought from theory into practice.

YES SHE CAN – FRAUEN VERÄNDERN DIE WELT can be seen exclusively on Amazon Prime Video from May 2021.
